Dawn of Creation Art Studio

I quit my job.  I started on online coffee business to make ends meet.  And then miraculously, I renewed contact with a brilliant man I had known years before, we began dating, got married and a few years later moved to a huge farm in Illinois, two hours north of St. Louis.

 It wasn't easy, but now I have the life of my dreams (okay, minus the big bucks, but ya can't have everything!!).  I live on a 300 acre farm with my wonderful husband, 18 ducks, 5 chickens, 2 dogs, a cat and a house rabbit.  I own my own gallery and I get to make art for a living.  Clarksville, Missouri is FULL of wonderful artists and has more Best of Missouri Hands Artists per capita than anywhere in the state.  They have welcomed me into their community with open arms and made it feel like home.  Although I drive home to my farm each night, I care very much about Clarksville and am engaged in planning community events and fostering other artists in their pursuits.

Regarding my craft...

I began doing pottery as a child.  My Native American grandfather taught me to love clay and to create red and white southwestern style pottery.  I picked it up again later in life.  It was truly my first love when it comes to art.

I had always had an obsession with glass, collecting it for many years, so when I got the opportunity to learn stained glass I lept.  The way light is transformed and becomes almost a living entity through its interaction with glass enthralls me. 

From there, it was an easy leap to fused glass and glass mosaic.  I never intended to make jewelry, but when my customers saw the fused glass I was making, they kept requesting it so I started making it!  Now I adore making jewelry and have so many beautiful and unique pieces that it makes me proud.

I hope you can visit our studio and see what we've done there and also see what you could create as well through taking our classes.  I believe that art is for everyone and that creating something that really comes from YOU is the best therapy money can buy.
